Reykjavík Poetics #10 / Að Jökla

Wednesday, 17 April 2024. Mengi, Reykjavík

RVK Poetics is a community-oriented event where we celebrate the vibrant voices of local writers and showcase new writing—this time the event is curated by Daria Testo, a Buryat-Mongolian indigenous curator, art historian, researcher, and currently a raven at the Snæfellsjökull for President campaign.

Að Jökla— to become with glacier— presents a process of mutual transformation. This event is dedicated to the glacial campaign Snæfellsjökul fyrir forseta, an ecocentric nomination of Snæfellsjökull to become the president of Iceland. Að Jökla prompts a reflection on how our actions impact our Glacial watchers and, in turn, how their changes reverberate through our lives and ecosystems.
